Mike Miceli        8:48am Nov 5
The Pride of Port Chester’s 2018 Competitive season has come to an end, but it
was an effort that concluded in positive rewards and overall success. We placed
2nd out of 5 very talented bands, who were all charging towards 1st. We all
made this accomplishment together as a community and I’d like to take a moment
to acknowledge many of the behind the scenes people who made this season
work.

Music Department Chairperson, Mr. Ken Kraut, who has built this music
program up to high levels and has worked tirelessly to produce. Assistant Band
Director, Mr. Ulysses Torres, the world needs more teachers like you. The
Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Ed Kliszus for years of support
towards the arts. Captain Ken Force, for being my mentor and helping me to
continue the great traditions of this band. Mike Coppolla for his great moving
drill. David Dion for his awe-inspiring arrangements as well as original
composition “Danza” the Dia de los Muertos Parade music. PCHS custodial
staffs, SUNY Purchase and Chris Bisignano, Rye Town Park Commission,
King Street School, Thanks to everyone who helped with this season, apologies
if I’ve left anyone out.

The Band Staff, who have brought refreshing new ideas with magnificent
delivery….

The Band Parent Association for their behind the scenes work, driving trucks,
organizing uniforms, fundraising and a million other things. Finally, Band Parent
President, Mrs. Cathy Rosenfeld, whom I could not do this job without, you are
and Angel, thank you so much!!

Thank you students, for believing in the Pride of Port Chester and believing in
yourselves. Take a moment to think back to the beginning and realize how far
you have come as individuals and as a team. Remember, there is nothing in life
that is beyond your grasp of achievement, so long as you work hard and believe
in yourself. I’m very proud to be your director! -Mr. Miceli
